The Boilermaker Special
At Purdue University, designs of mascots have been changing slightly for decades. However the main type of mascot has not changed yet: Boilermaker Special train. Purdue University did not have any mascots in the beginning when they were first built, However, as students were wanting for a mascot, they continuously sent emails to their editor about masking a mascot that represented engineering this allowed Purdue to come up with a mascot named Boilermaker Special. Boilermaker Special resembles Victorian era, and it is built on chassis. Moreover, Through out the interview, it is stated that It has been inspired from land grant University. In fact, a student who pulled the main trigger on coming up with this mascot was named Israel Seikowitsz.
Boilermaker Special has been changing over seven times as it has been keep on updating. Moreover, even though Bolermaker special is fully owned by Purdue and State of Indiana, it is taken care by Remers club. As Boiler maker has been changing over time, the main years are 1940 where it was first introduced, 1053 where second one came out with the matching trailer, 1960 where third one came out with even more improvments, 1993 on spet 25, fourth one came out, 1996 the fifth one came out and lastly replaced after 199 and 2011, where seventh one came out. Boilermaker Special is constantly keep getting improved in order to make it into better quality train as it is Purdue University's mascot.
